UX Fellows Hosts Morning Roastery Event at UXPA 2016
For the past 15 years, UXPA International has been one of the most highly attended international events for UX. Everyone from the veteran UX Pros to students of our profession frequent this event. The presentations and talks are often thematic and timely, educational and inspiration and it’s always a good opportunity to network, learn and drink lots of coffee (in this case Starbucks coffee).
To bring additional awareness to our international partnership, the UX Fellows hosted a morning coffee mixer, A Cup of Joe with UX Fellows, at 2016’s UXPA International Conference in Seattle, Washington. The event was quite the success, including a roastery tour and coffee tastings. Representing UX Fellows at the event was Key Lime Interactive, GoToResearch and U1 Group.
The event was held at one of Seattle’s most desired tourist destinations, Starbucks Reserve Roastery & Tasting Room. The architecture and design of the roastery was a site to see, functional and beautiful. In addition to the tasty pastries and unique ambiance, we had a gentleman named Major Cohen, a Coffee Educator & Senior Project Manager for Starbucks Global Innovation, who spoke and captivated our audience on the topic of the digital evolution that Starbucks sees in their future. Some highlighted tweets from the presentation:
“Shorter lines in all Starbucks = less waiting for all. Why? Order & Pay via app. Go straight to pick up line. #UXPA2016”
“10 million people using Starbucks mobile payment. #UXPA2016”
“Goal for 1.5-year-old roaster: via digital, never wait in line. Sit down, order, delivered to you, pay mobile. Better than a bar! #UXPA2016”
“Starbucks held $4M in credit, eligible for interest, on their mobile app in 2009! How much now?!”
Thank you to everyone who attended. For those that were not able to attend, take a look at the full visual recap here.
